Gondelbahn 1001 Nacht (removed in 2009) Phantasialand and opened in 1970. The dark ride was built in oriental style. Visitors floated over the oriental villages in gondolas. Two visitors could take a seat per gondola. Each train consisted of three gondolas. The first part of the ride was a round trip, after which the gondolas entered the dark ride through a dragon's head. During the ride, the gondolas could adjust their speed. It was comparable to Dream Flight in the Efteling. That this ride was removed was due to expense. In 2008 Phantasialand decided to remove it. Wözl's Wassertreter is now located on this spot.
Gondelbahn 1001 Nacht was the very first major attraction of Phantasialand. Incidentally, the oldest working dark ride in Phantasialand is Geister Rikscha, the ride opened on June 5, 1981.
