'Giovanola' was a major roller coaster builder until the company went bankrupt in 2004.

Giovanola located in Monthey, Switzerland was founded by; 'Joseph Giovanola' The company was known for building power plants, water storage tanks, pipelines, boilers, highway bridges, submarines, ski lifts, and many other steel products. Joseph Giovanola started his business in 1888.

In the mid-1980s, two engineers from 'Giovanola', 'Claude Mabillard' and 'Walter Bolliger', (B&M) developed a new type of roller coaster with a box beam spine. The new style track made its appearance on a production model coaster sold by 'Intamin' as Space Diver.

'Giovanola' mainly built large megacoasters. These can be found in the following parks:

'Goliath' (Six Flags Magic Mountain)

'Titan' (Six Flags Over Texas)

'Giovanola' also built one inverted coaster:

'Anaconda' at the 'Gold Reef City' amusement park in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Furthermore, 'Giovanola' was often the subcontractor for various roller coasters. Including 'de Bob' in De Efteling, 'Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril' in Disneyland Paris, and 'Cop Car Chase', Movie Park Germany.

The company went bankrupt in 2004 because there were too few requests to build roller coasters. Swiss roller coaster builders 'Bolliger & Mabillard' (B&M) and 'Intamin AG' have taken over 'Giovanola'.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭... 'Giovanola' also had Motion Cinema Attraction (MCA) in their catalog? In 1998 Giovanola released the 'MCA', a large sofa that could seat 50 to 100 people looking at large screens and the sofa could move back and forth, but none of it was ever sold.
