'Son of Beast' was a wooden roller coaster in the American theme park Kings Island.
At that time, the park still had the name; Paramount's Kings Island, the track opened on May 26, 2000, the track closed on June 2009 and the demolition took place in October 2012.
'Son of Beast' was built by; "Gerstlauer."
The name 'Son of Beast' suggests that it is a successor or son of 'The Beast'. When 'Son of Beast' was introduced in 2000, it was the only wooden coaster in the top 10 worldwide roller coaster rankings.
It was the only wooden roller coaster with a vertical loop. The loop was removed in 2006 after an incident.
'Son of Beast' had a top speed of 126.2 km/h, a track length of 2143.4 m, a height of 66.4 m, and a maximum g-force of 4.5.
After an investigation, the three old ones, by Premier Rides
built roller coaster trains replaced by two Gerstlauer trains from the now demolished roller coaster 'Hurricane' from Myrtle Beach Pavilion, South Carolina, United States.
From 18-04, 2014 'Banshee' will be replaced by a B&M Invert on the site of 'Son of Beast'. (Bolliger & Mabillard)
𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭...Later, a memorial plaque was built for the attraction on the site where it once stood. There is also a tombstone for the former roller coaster in the queue of the successor Banshee.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨.....'The Beast' originally had four tunnels. The two middle tunnels were joined together in 1980 to form a single longer tunnel. The last helix was also enclosed at that time.
