𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 ...Dodonpa's Top Hat was removed in 2017, and replaced by a Giant 161-foot tall Vertical Loop?

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨 ...Dodonpa, is named for musical sounds?

(similar to Do Re Mi, but percussive) and is also the "chant" referred to occasionally while you wait in line for the coaster.

While the park writes "Dodonpa", a more accurate natural pronunciation would be "Dodompa" (with a "m"). Many Japanese use "n" by Japanese roman lettering convention.

Do-Dodonpa (ド・ドドンパ), formerly known as Dodonpa, is a launch roller coaster located at Fuji-Q Highland Japanese Theme Park near Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture.

Dodonpa was built by S&S Power and opened in 2001. The coaster uses a pneumatic launch to accelerate the coaster train to 172 km/h in 1.8 seconds, which is equivalent to a forward acceleration of 2.7 g. The speed was increased to 180 km/h and the acceleration was accelerated to 1.56 seconds. The name was also changed: Do-Dodonpa.

Dodonpa's old trains had lap bars and the new trains got over-the-shoulder restraints in 2017.

At the opening of Dodonpa, it was the fastest roller coaster in the world. When Top Thrill Dragster opened in May 2003, Dodonpa lost the speed record. In terms of acceleration, Dodonpa is still the fastest roller coaster in the world with an acceleration.

When the Dodonpa opened, the Zero-cars were: Father, Mother, Sister and Baby. These were later changed to: Cheetah, Snake, Zebra and Strawberry.
