John Richard Wardley (born 6 June 1950 in Harrow-Greater-London) is a British creator and designer of roller coasters in the Amusement Park-Theme Park industry.

John Wardley's first project as a designer and production manager was not a roller coaster, but a Dark Ride;

Uncle Frankenstein's Scream Machine. (Barry Island, Wales)

He also designed, among other things; Scorpion Express, (original Runaway Train) Chessington World of Adventures,

Oblivion, Alton Towers, Dragon Khan, PortAventura, Megafobia, Oakwood and Saw The Ride, Thorpe Park.


He also gave advice for the developments of the time; Th13teen, Alton Towers, Raptor, Gardaland and Flug der Dรคmonen, and Heide Park.


One of his other projects at this time was producing the Mystique show at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, with Leisure developer Geoffrey Thompson, which lasted nearly 20 years.


John Wardley also worked closely with Chris Sawyer and Frontier Developments for the game 'RollerCoaster Tycoon 3'.

John Wardley can also be used as a Cheat Code in 'RollerCoaster Tycoon 1' if you give one of the visitors his name.

And he was a technical advisor for the Rollercoaster Simulation Franchise; 'No Limits 2.'
