Eddy Meeùs, Antwerp, December 15, 1925 – November 24, 2001, was a Belgian founder of Walibi. He opened Walibi Wavre in 1975.

Walibi not only stands for the three municipalities around the park 𝐖𝐀vre, 𝐋𝐈mal 𝐁𝐈erges, but the park is located in Limal. And the Walibi Belgium car park is situated in Bierges. And Wavre is because it is the largest nearest Municipality to the park.

As a right-hand man, Eddy Meeùs hired Dominique Fallon as Director of Promotions in 1975.

In 1972 he contacted Telewaterski, a cable ski installation.

Eddy Meeùs bought De Flevohof in the Netherlands 1993 as Walibi Flevo and reopened in 1994.

Eddy Meeùs sold Walibi Waver against his will, to Six Flags it was his life's work.

Eddy Meeùs Died on November 24, 2001.

The Walibi group is listed on the Brussels Stock Exchange on June 24, 1988. One share then amounts to €32.70.

The designs of Walibi Belgium, Walibi Rhône-Alpes, Parc Spirou, Futuroscope, and Parc Astérix have been made for a number of years by Julien Bertevas and Fabien Manuel, who are the so-called in-house designers of the Walibi (Group) Parks.

The former Six Flags Belgium designer was Lieven Decabooter.

The General Manager of Walibi Belgium is Jean-Christophe Parent.
