Tokyo DisneySea, Chiba, Japan opened on September 4, 2001, the park covers a 176-acre park. (71.22 ha) And the park has 7 themed areas.

Tokyo DisneySea is operated not directly from "The Walt Disney Company" but by "The Oriental Land Company."

The Oriental Land Company is a Japanese leisure and tourism corporation headquartered in Chiba, Japan.

The Company pays Disney for character and likeness licenses and royalties, and Disney consults and contracts out Imagineers to the company to design and build 'Tokyo Disneyland Park' as well as a second theme park, 'Tokyo DisneySea.' The construction of 'Tokyo DisneySea took about 3 years.

The park has no less than 2 coasters called one; 'Flounder's Flying Fish Coaster' built by the Japanese company 'Togo' and opened 4-9-2001 and named the other coaster; 'Raging Spirits' built by the Switzer company 'Intamin' and opened on 7/21/2005.

The park also has a Volcano that every so often goes off with smoke and flames.

'Tokyo DisneySea' is also intended to share and learn the experience of the oceans and their impact on human life.

That's because the Japanese visitors aren't as familiar with the show and the company that owns the park didn't want to pay both CBS and Disney in royalties. Instead, it features an original storyline taking place at 'Hotel Hightower', utilizing 'the Society of Explorers and Adventurers' storyline that already exists within the park.
