Animatronics also sometimes malfunction, Disney has special terms for that; 'B-Mode' and 'A-Mode.'
B-mode is a built-in (backup) function for many major attractions. This is where ride designers build a simpler version of a particular scene to use in case an effect or animatronic goes down.
The moment an Animatronic falls into a 'B-Mode', Disney has come up with smart tricks to prevent the malfunctioning Animatronic from seeing or to distract you.
An A-Mode is quite simple that is animatronic that can never move again, take for convenience the 'Yeti' from Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain ', in Disney's Animal Kingdom. It once broke down and has not worked for years. They call that an A-Mode. In rollercoaster terms that would be called SBNO (standing but not operating)
𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭...At 'Na'vi River Journey' in 'Disney's Animal Kingdom's Pandora - The World of Avatar, the' Shaman 'in the ride when she shoots in B-Mode that a screen comes down and the Animatronic disappears behind a screen? And on the screen, the video is played with the moving 'Shaman' so that when entering the scene it is not noticeable that the Animatronic is a malfunction or that it has been removed to fix the malfunction.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨...On 'Rise of the Resistance' in 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, when the scene with' Kylo Ren 'gets blown away that if it doesn't work the trackless ride quickly picks it up and turns you away from the Animatronic? And lets you watch a screen that you normally just drive past.
